This culinary gem at 6840 Edinger Ave captures the essence of traditional Asian cooking while embracing the freshness and richness of modern flavors.
At Kung Pao Bowl, the menu is a carefully crafted journey through some of the best-loved staples of Chinese cuisine. Whether you're craving the crisp sweetness of their famous Walnut Shrimp, the comforting warmth of Won Ton Noodle Soup, or the fiery kick of the Three Flavors Kung Pao, there's an undeniable richness in the taste and texture that satisfies deep cravings. The Chicken Fried Rice and Shrimp Fried Rice boast perfectly stir-fried grains infused with fresh vegetables, while their Chow Fun offers silky, wide rice noodles melded with subtle soy flavors and the crunch of scallions and bean sprouts.
Diners who gravitate towards a spicier palate will appreciate the Kung Pao Dinner, a harmonious symphony of seared red chili peppers, crunchy roasted peanuts, and scallions all enveloped in a piquant sauce, complemented by the satisfying crunch of water chestnuts. For those seeking something a bit more savory, the Mongolian Dinner delivers a luscious, dark mushroom soy flavor enhanced with sweet oyster sauce — every bite layering rich umami notes that linger delightfully on the tongue.
Further elevating the dining experience are the variety of scrumptious bowls like the Kung Pao Chicken Bowl — hot, spicy, and immensely satisfying — or the hearty Kung Pao 3 Delight Bowl, which balances heat and texture perfectly. Accompanied by refreshing beverages such as the classic House Tea or the exotic Thai Iced Tea, each meal feels like a personal celebration of Asian culinary artistry.

This place has been on my list to revisit for a while. It has been at least a solid 5 years since my first and last meal here; the last time I was here, I ordered a chicken dish and there was a piece of a bone left in my dinner, I bit down on it and cracked my tooth with the filling in it! I have never been back until now. We decided to stop in for a quick bite and see what we've been missing, if anything; and to have an objective opinion about the food. Honestly, the Kung Pao Bowl with broccoli and steamed dumplings were just, meh. The taste of their food isn't bad, but it just never seems to really 'wow,' me. Pretty consistent across the board. However, the service is always fast, with very friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and can accommodate a lot of guests. Unfortunately, for me, it will only be, "The place that broke my tooth..."
The service and the food are good. The owner is nice and the price is very reasonable. I would definitely return.
3-17-25 love coming here! The food never disappoints. 9-27-24 after coming here many of moons I still have nothing but great things to say. They have new items which was ordered tofay...but it was so good I forgot to take pictures... I only snapped 1 of their cream cheese won tons. As soon as we entered we were greeted by friendly workers. The establishment is clean and vibrant. There was no wait and was instantly helped (it was about 1 hour before they closed). As we waiting I noticed all the nice art that was in the restaurant, great energy and vibe.Everything we ordered came out in the appropriate time. Every dish we had was yummy. I liked their style of walnut shrimp... lightly flavored...not overly sweet...slightly crispy! The hostess, the waiter and the cook checked on us to see if everything was good and refilled out drinks. Over all the experience here was awesome. All the workers there are friendly and awesome!! I hope everyone who comes has a similar experience and or better.
I’m very happy with my experience here. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. I had the Mu Shu Park, Walnut Shrimp, House Fried Rice and Shu Mai Dim Sum. Delicious!
Heard about the place from a friend, didn’t know what to expect to be honest. But I’m very very pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be coming back soon! The service was great and the food, oh my, the food! I loved the Mongolian Trio and the Battered Shrimp. You can tell the food is made at the moment, and portions are quite nice for the price as well. Glad to have found this gem and hope I can come back soon with more friends!
